Disturbing Trends in the Holiness Movement...

1) Conversion without confession.

2) Regeneration without repentance.

3) Sanctification without surrender.

4) Heaven without holiness.

Jared,
How would you define the Holiness Movement?

How will we know if we are successful in this movement?

Curious of your thoughts....

Paul

yes i would like you to define holiness as well and what we could do (in your opinion to change)

another question for you

Can one man change a country?

Paul:

Holiness Movement= a movement to promote the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which enables individuals to live holy lives.

Your Question: How will we know if we are successful in this movement?

Answer: If people are sanctified wholly (for example see Acts 1 & 2 and what happened to the disciples, who were Christians, at Pentecost).

Josiah "rambo":

I can't tell from your question whether you want a definition of the "holiness movement" or just "holiness."

For "holiness movement" see above. For "holiness" see Article X of the Church of the Nazarene's articles of faith.

They can be viewed here:

What could we do to change?

Return to the essence of Christianity!

Call people to confessing their sins (if you don't admit the problem it will never be dealt with)!

Call people to repentance (which prepares the way for the Lord).

Call people to surrender to the lordship of our Savior.

Call people to holiness and the life accompanies the baptism of the Holy Spirit. ("I sin every day in thought, word, and deed" is a plague on the church today... not to mention the anti-thesis to the Gospel message!)

Can one man change a country?

Your vision is too small; through Christ we can change the world!

I believe that God can do much more than make sinners feel warm and fuzzy in their present state. God has the power to transform them into something holy!

In expectation:
